Fuel Filters

A fuel filter in the fuel line screens out particles from the fuel tank, and any pollutants allowed to enter the fuel at the service station. Unfiltered fuel may contain several kinds of contaminants, including paint chips and dirt that have been knocked into the tank while filling, or rust caused by moisture in the tank. If these substances are not removed before the fuel enters the system, they will cause rapid wear and failure of the fuel pump, injectors and combustion chamber, due to their abrasive action on these high-precision components. Fuel filters also improve performance, as fewer contaminants in the fuel allow for more efficient combustion. Champion® offers a full line of reliable fuel filters that are manufactured using sheets of non-woven materials. The fibres in the sheets have a random structure that allows different permeability, filtering out small particles.
